Chapel Choir
Chapel Church has a long history of outstanding music ministry. Leading the way is our Organist and Director of Music Ministry, Carol Blessing.
Carol’s musical passion is probably most obvious in her direction of the Chapel Choir. The Chapel Choir is our church’s excellent adult choir, with members aging from teenagers up to senior citizens. The choir is in session from fall through spring, taking the summer off for rest and rejuvenation. Each summer the choir has a special celebratory picnic with fellowship and good food.
During the choir season, the Chapel Choir meets weekly on Wednesday evenings to practice. The choir regularly blesses us with weekly anthems and special selections during the 8:00 am traditional worship service and often during the 10:30 am service as well.
During the summer, many choir members offer special musical selections during the worship services. In addition, the choir blesses us with special musical cantatas every other Easter and every other Christmas. These special presentations often have musical or narrative contributions from a large cross-section of our talented congregation. Do you like to sing? Then join the choir now!!
Praise Team
Chapel’s Praise Team leads us in contemporary musical worship each Sunday at the 10:30 am worship service. The Praise Team includes vocalists, drummers, keyboard players, and more. They practice bi-weekly on Tuesday evenings and also briefly each Sunday at 9:15 am. There are many opportunities to be involved with the Praise Team, from regular participation to occasional participation. Please see LeeAnn Wilt (747-1045 or slenkkid@aol.com) to discuss joining the Praise Team.
Chapel's Joyful Noise (CJN)
This opportunity to worship God through music is open to all school-aged children, kindergarten through the 6th grade. The CJN meets during the 10:30 worship service of the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sunday of each month during the school year. The CJN participates in worship services, ministers to shut-ins, and has a special children's musical every other year. To join, see Wendy Trout (755-8301 or kwtrout@comcast.net) or George Bradshaw (891-9365 or gbrads@dover.k12.pa.us).
Special Music for Worship

There are many opportunities to share special musical talents during the worship services. For example, each week there is an offertory selection in each worship service. In addition, there are sometimes special musical selections scheduled in place of a hymn or choir anthem. If you play an instrument or sing, please contact Carol Blessing (contact info. on back of brochure) to schedule a time when you can praise the Lord in song and bless the congregation with your God given musical talents.
Musicals/Cantatas/Special Programs
Every other Easter and every other Christmas, the Chapel Choir prepares a big musical cantata as part of our celebration of the season. Many talented folks from the Chapel congregation, and even a few from the community join in for these tremendous events. Chapel’s Music Ministry also hosts other special programs regularly, such as a Family Christmas Night where members share holiday musical selections together. Another infamous event is the Chapel’s God Talent “Gong Show” where members get together and create “acts” - - comedy acts or serious acts - - which they then perform in a live variety show.
